Product: 54-24723-01 Digital Memory (4GB ECC, 8200 AlphaServer, 128MB, 35PC)
Pros:1. High Capacity: With a 4GB capacity, this memory module provides a substantial amount of memory for your AlphaServer system, which can significantly improve system performance and efficiency.
2. ECC (Error Correction Code) Support: ECC memory is designed to detect and correct single-bit errors, enhancing data integrity and system reliability, particularly in mission-critical environments.
3. Compatibility: The 8200 AlphaServer model is a well-known and widely used server platform, ensuring that this memory module should be compatible with a broad range of systems.
4. Additional Features: The 128MB of onboard cache and the 35 PC (Parallel Computing) design may offer advantages for high-performance computing applications.
Cons:1. Potential Limited Availability: As this is a specific model for an older AlphaServer, finding this exact memory module in stock or obtaining technical support might be challenging.
2. Possible Higher Cost: Given its niche market and specifications, this memory module might be more expensive compared to more common DDR4 or DDR5 memory modules.
3. Compatibility Limitations: While this memory module is designed for the 8200 AlphaServer, it may not be compatible with other models or modern servers, limiting its versatility.
Conclusion:The 54-24723-01 Digital Memory offers high capacity, ECC support, and additional features that can benefit AlphaServer users. However, its limited availability, potential higher cost, and compatibility limitations are important factors to consider before making a purchase decision. If you are in need of a memory upgrade for your AlphaServer and can find this specific model at a reasonable price, it could be a valuable investment. Alternatively, research alternative memory options that may offer similar performance and compatibility with a wider range of systems.
I wish I could use these, but I only have 1 alphaserver left and this memory is not compatible with it. Part number is if you want to look up any information on these modules. Not sure if this memory will work in other alphaserver or not. There is 4480mb of ecc ram here.
I'm selling them as is. These modules were pulled from working servers a couple years ago and have not been used our tested since.
